At A Haven for Us, support is more than a service:
It's something we create together.
We provide free, peer-led support groups where LGBTQIA+ individuals and families can connect, share experiences, and build community in a safe, affirming space. We also offer personalized LGBTQIA+ resource navigation to help connect people with affirming services in their area.
Through our Community Microgrant Program, we provide direct financial assistance to LGBTQIA+ people facing barriers to healthcare, housing, relocation, mental health care, gender-affirming care, and other essential needs.
You don't need to prove anything to belong here. Just show up as you are.

Trans Open Door
What: A peer-led meeting focusing on trans policy tracking, positive news, resource sharing, and community support.
Who: 18+ trans* individuals and allies welcome
When: Once monthly
Where: Via Zoom
Monthly topics are chosen and announced on social media and with those on our email list.
Rainbow Reads Queer Book Club
What: A virtual book club and safe space to discuss queer literature.
Who: Avid readers and newcomers welcome
(You don't need to have read the whole book, but be aware that spoilers may be shared!)
When: Once every 2 months
Where: Via Zoom

Online Webinars
What: Educational webinars and panel discussions featuring LGBTQIA+ community leaders, professionals, and advocates on a wide range of topics relevant to the LGBTQIA+ community.

Trans-parency (coming soon!)
What: A parent-led support group for parents and caregivers of transgender children and adults to connect, share experiences, and navigate the journey together.
Who: Parents and caregivers of transgender children or adults who are seeking to be supportive, affirming, and accepting.
When: Once monthly
Where: Via Zoom
Trans-parency meetings will launch in late 2026. Join our email list to be among the first to hear when meetings begin.
financial assistance
Community Microgrant Program
The A Haven for Us Community Microgrant Program provides direct financial assistance to eligible LGBTQIA+ adults experiencing financial barriers or pursuing opportunities that support their health, safety, stability, education, and overall well-being.
Microgrants are awarded through recurring application cycles and may help cover needs such as medical care, gender-affirming care, mental health services, housing or relocation expenses, education, and other qualifying costs.
Because funding is limited, applications are reviewed through a competitive process based on program eligibility and available funds.
Applications are currently closed. The next application cycle is expected to open in October 2026. Additional information about eligibility and how to apply will be posted before applications open.
